Port Grimaud - Golfe de Saint-Tropez - French Riviera - Grimaud, France - Earth View

Italy has Venice, the Netherlands has Amsterdam, and the French Riviera has the seaside town of Port Grimaud on the Golfe de Saint-Tropez of the Mediterranean Sea in the commune of Grimaud, as part of the Var d茅partement in Provence-Alpes-C么te d鈥橝zur, France.

Located 7 kilometres west of Saint-Tropez and 7 kilometres south-west of Sainte-Maxime, Port Grimaud was created by architect Fran莽ois Spoerry in the 1960s by modifying the marshes of La Giscle river with channels built in a Venetian manner, but rather with French style houses resembling those in Les Voiles de Saint-Tropez.

Three sections of Port Grimaud exist today, as the addition of the aptly named Port Grimaud 2 was completed in the 1970s, followed with Port Grimaud 3 in the 1990s.
