Think You Can’t Visit Miami With Kids? Think Again!

In 2019, over 131 million tourists visited Florida. Although Orlando is one of the most popular destinations for families, it’s not your only choice when it comes time to plan a vacation. Miami, a bustling and culturally rich city, offers plenty of fun activities for the whole family to enjoy!

Are you thinking of visiting Miami with kids, but aren’t sure which attractions to visit? If so, keep reading as we share some of the best kids’ activities in Miami!

Family-Friendly Beaches

Most children love the beach, and you’ll find plenty in the Miami area!

If you want to avoid the crowds, head to Surfside, a laid-back beach town in Miami. There are picnic areas and paddleboard rentals, which your older children may enjoy using.

Another option is Key Biscayne’s Crandon Park, famous for its calm water and immaculate sandy shores. There are also playgrounds and concessions on-site, so you can spend the whole day relaxing and enjoying water activities.

Miami Beach Boardwalk

One of the most popular Miami Beach attractions for families is the boardwalk. It’s the perfect place to take pictures, enjoy beautiful scenery, and even get a little exercise!

So grab an ice cream cone and take a stroll with your little ones! Or, if you have older children, you may even want to rent bikes or rollerblades.

Tidal Cove Waterpark

If your kids can’t get enough of the water, they’ll love visiting Tidal Cove! There are lots of water rides for children over 48″ tall and several pools and lazy rivers for smaller children.

If you want to get the best deal, be sure to visit the waterpark during the week!

Vizcaya Museum and Gardens

Although it isn’t necessarily an activity for children, many kids love touring the Vizcaya Museum and Gardens because it resembles a castle. It’s also a great opportunity for them to see history come to life! After exploring this 100-year-old house, you can walk through the gardens and even see an old ship!

Miami Zoo

The Miami Zoo is the biggest zoo in Florida. It’s also the oldest. And, it’s the only sub-tropical zoo in the continental U.S.

During the week, you can attend special talks with zookeepers, who share interesting information about the animals. There are also animal encounters in the park and some rides for younger kids. Without a doubt, a visit to the zoo is one of the best things to do in Miami with kids!

Everglades Safari Park

Although you can see gators at the zoo, it’s much more exciting to see them in the wild! In the Everglades, spotting gators is never a challenge, especially when you take an airboat tour. Most of these tours cater to families, so the guide will ensure that you stay safe and have a great time.
